Arts Lab 6.0: Kristers Glapito - Month 2

The months are mixing. The days are flashy, rapid and foggy. Therefore - the first thing I remember is a very pleasant culture night - the French one.

I expected fries but got a lot of interesting food anyways… no complaints.

Then we went to a highschool in Iași. This day was very rapid and tiring as we had to work with 6th graders. Some of them were shy and some of them like trains. I thought that the workshop wouldn’t work out and that mine would be the least liked. Turns out - most of them talked about my workshop with others and told my colleagues that it’s the best one. This was a surprise I couldn’t wish more for.

After the workshop with 6th graders, we had our first exhibition - the Jemom exhibition - in Târgu Frumos. We made it small in order to practice. It was a very heart warming process and we all got to see each other's work also.

Can’t forget to tell about my birthday - it was a work full day as I was preparing an architecture project for the big Jemom exhibition upcoming in Iași.

The day ended with an unexpected surprise - I was on the balcony, having my time, when Salma approached me and told me that Mihaela really needs me. I like to be helpful so I came… and then everyone started singing “Happy birthday” and Katrina was coming forward to me with a cake that my parents had bought for me although they are far away in Latvia.

Nonetheless, the day was sunny, thanks to Katrina - she knows how to cheer me up.

Continuing, we finally had our first BIG exhibition - in Iași. The same theme - Jemom. Me and Katrina went away fast because she was having terrible stomach pain. But I did get to present my architecture project which was nice as I haven’t spoken in front of an audience for a year or two.

Then came the Syrian night - we ate the best shawarma that exists. Shoutout to Rahaf.

And that’s it for the month! Until the next one…
