Arts Lab 5.0: Violeta Roca, Spain - Month 4

This month I’ve been to many places, met many people and done a lot of different activities, it’s been very variate, so it’s difficult to remember all what happened. My emotions have been up and down all the time and I experienced many different things.

To begin, we started with the Jewish museum and the residency in Moldova Special School, which I loved. I’ve also prepared the Catalan night and it was so fun to present all the dishes and the culture. I’ve had many fun in the Rroma event and the artistic classes in Iași, and then, the Christmas caravans where successful, I’ve really enjoyed the time with the students.

The Christmas free days started and I lent the house a little sad or uncomfortable with the people, I was frustrated in general with all around me, but this trip inspired me a lot and it gave me a lot of energy, motivation and a different perspective about the people in the house and the project. I’ve met a lot of travelers in the hostel from many different nationalities, and they were having really interesting lives, I’ve just felt that finally I could have interesting conversations that gave me something, I’ve also could be in the mountains and ski. I’ve realized many things about myself by solo traveling and also I’ve got better in myself confidence. Then, my parents visit me and even it was a little bit stressful and they passed me the flu, it was a very enjoyable time and I’ve really appreciated.

When I came back home it was difficult for me, but after some days I started to feel a lot better in the house and see everything around me in a different and more positive perspective. We also finished the Moldova Special High-school residency, and I had a very enjoyable time there. Later, a friend from Barcelona came to visit me and we’ve done another fast trip to the mountains, it gave me a lot of  life and good energy.

More than learning I think now I'm starting to get over some things that bothered me a lot in the last few months. So I was able to put everything back in order, and regain a little self-confidence that I felt I had been losing in myself for the last few months, it has been like being able to take a breath of fresh air.

I am planning to enjoy the time that I have in here, as it’s not a lot left. My plans are just be more present in the moment and appreciate more what I am doing and where I arrived.

Violeta Roca is from Spain, and she is participating in a six-month volunteering program within Arts Lab 5.0, a project co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps.
