Arts Lab 3.0: Krista Lipska - Time flies
During December time flew so quickly, that I even didn’t have a moment of realization that it is gone. While I have been here perception of time periodically switches to another rhythm, which is not so close to the real time frame. In the middle of December calendar was showing me that I have been here for half a year – did it actually feel like it? I can assure you that not.
There is no way how I could measure time here in a certain way, because most of the time it feels that I have been here for such a long, long time – memories, flashbacks, and emotional footprints are left on so many streets, corners, places and in other people’s minds.
Although at the same time it feels that I haven’t been here long enough to get to know everyone as much as they deserve. It's half a year a lot or not so much? I guess it depends on how big a cut of time it’s been placed. If it’s about the amount of time spent away from family and friends in Latvia – it’s too much, but if reflect in a cut of my whole life, it has been just a drop in the sea of creating, recreating, and working on my best self where one of the best things what can happen, is to find myself in a place surrounded by inspiring, passionate and kind people who are my friends and team.
This Christmas I got reassurance that the time I spent here, the place I chose as part of my life’s journey surely was more than worthy and left a way bigger impact than I could ever even dare to imagine. I got something really important and significant which was the best I could receive being far away from home. And I am truly grateful to the amazing and flaming souls I am working with herewith. I could never wish for more welcoming and warmer hugs when I need them the most – around time which has always been spent with family. Thank you, everyone, for giving me a reason to stop a bit, look back and take a proper moment of appreciation.
