Summary of the project:
“SPACE FOR DIALOGUE” is a multilateral youth exchange on cultural diversity whose aim is to get together young people from various social, cultural and ethno-racial background and provide them with social tools and skills by that helping them to raise the awareness for their cultural diverse surroundings, to find out and understand the differences as well as to be proud to except their cultural and personal identity that will lead to achieving personal, social and professional development.

In this project we will discuss about the culture, gender equality, the ethics, the education system, the music, the traditional dances of all the partner groups. We will have lectures, team games, workshops and discussion about all the unique cultures that are included under Europe . We are going to make activities with the aim of knowing Europe : quiz, building maps, sport games, round table, open discussions, presenting traditional histories, workshops and outdoor activities. We will have a special day about mixing cultures and combine people from different background.  The main topic of our exchange is discovering cultures and learn new ethics, arts and traditions. During the project we will try to build bridges between the European Youth and we will promote the volunteering and the values of our common future in Europe. Also during the project we will organize intercultural nights where all the partner groups will present their country, their culture, traditional foods, drinks, music and dances. 

With this project we want to mix different cultures and cross borders to other traditions, languages and mentalities by involving actively with groups from other countries.

The main objectives of this project are to raise awareness of one’s own identity and culture and to cross borders to other traditions, languages and mentalities by involving actively with groups from other countries. One important part will furthermore be the addressing of prejudice in all kinds of situations and how to fight it.

 Through activities including group work, outdoor activities, interactive lectures, quizzes, games and workshops, the participants will find out more about the factors that may separate us (like nationality, mentality, sexual orientation, background, etc.) and learn how to benefit from this diversity instead of seeing them as obstacles. By getting in touch with the other participants, they will broaden their horizons and improve mutual understanding within Europe.  
Given the importance of making people realize that we are all members of a large family called Europe, we intend to contribute to making young people aware of their European citizenship. Basic purpose of our project is to promote cultural diversity by developing the intercultural learning. We aim to understand the lifestyle and social background of each country by looking into the problems and the way of life of youngsters in the Mediterranean EU Countries. The project seeks the diversity of ideas, opinions, ethical awareness, and cultural differences of the participants in a unique framework of experience and activities. We shall look for similarities and differences between us. We also aim to familiarize ourselves with each other’s culture, to learn about the educational system in these countries and acquire new experiences and cultural knowledge. We are very interested to get to know how young people spend their leisure time. Our activities shall include seminars and working groups related to art, culture and education. Those activities involve discussions, workshops, lectures and evaluation in order to create a strong interaction between the youngsters of the participant countries.

Aim: 
The working methods and non formal education techniques that will be used for the success of the goals include workshops, PowerPoint presentations, movie and documentary projections, knowledge tests, research from the actual participants, opinion exchange, a range of games which will provide better understanding of the subject, role games, debates and reverse lecture practices.

The exchange will take place in Agros village (www.agros.org.cy) and will last 9 days in total, including the arrival and departure days. The number of participants comes up to 45 European youngsters, including group leaders from 9 different groups. In addition, the activities include lectures of the respective theme by experts while in the same time visits to various authorities and organizations like Cyprus Youth-board.

Main  Aims of the project:

to valorise the intercultural learning and intercultural dialogue concepts by transferring them into practical activities;
to valorise the creativity and the innovation potential of the participants;
to promote the cultural diversity of the European space using the traditional customs as a tool;
to facilitate the integration of young people into society and encouraging their spirit of initiative, their participation;
to raise the intercultural competences;
to support the development of youth organisations from participating countries or and to frame them in partnerships and projects within the “Youth in Action” Programme;
to give young people with fewer opportunities or isolated access to the mobility and non-formal education
to promote a better understanding of the diversity of our common European culture and shared heritage as well as of our common basic values;
To present intercultural learning by working, creating and cooperating    together

THE VENUE: 
VENUE OF THE YOUTH EXCHANGE: 
The youth exchange will take place in Agros village its 45 kilometers away from Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. 

The accommodation will be at Vlachos hotel in the center of the village in 2 beds rooms.

Agros village
Agros is a village of Limassol district, built amphitheatrically among high mountains. Its population is 800 people and is one of the most interesting villages of Cyprus and the Pitsillia area. Historical and cultural sites are kept in a natural environment of extraordinary beauty with the village maintaining the customs and its traditional character. The love for work and the progressiveness characterize its citizens. The village's modern highways make it a connection point between the cities of Nicosia and Limassol and the mountain of Troodos.

While wandering in the picturesque roads of Agros one can meet the tradition, history and culture of the island. But let’s now begin our tour in one of the most beautiful villages of Cyprus. 

One of the most remarkable aspects of Agros is the amphitheatrical way it is built. The traveler will be amazed by the beautiful buildings of folklore art which decorate the centrer of the village. All the houses are built with local materials and more specifically big and rough stones. The roofs of the houses are either pitched or flat. Skopa notes that the village was developed in a linear way along the street which unites the two churches of the village. 

TRAVELLING TO CYPRUS: 
In Larnaca, it is the international airport of Cyprus. As Cyprus is an island, all the participants have to take the airplane. Please try to find the cheapest flight to Larnaca. Attachment you will find the maximum price per country. For sure we will have volunteers to guide you, so please sent us as soon as possible your travel details. When you arrive in Cyprus, we will pick you up from Larnaca airport and bring you to Agros


Entry to the island
• There are two international airports in Cyprus, at Larnaka and Pafos.
• The two main ports are in Lemesos and Larnaka.
• Cyprus Airways is the islands national carrier.
• Around 37 airlines connect Cyprus directly with most Europeans and Middle East countries, which provide on-going services to anywhere in the world.
• Visa: No visa is required for entry into Cyprus by nationals of most European countries. Nationals of other countries should contact the nearest Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus or if there is none, the nearest British Consulate.

Coming to the venue of the project  (Agros village):
We will arrange a bus to come and pick up all the participants from airport and bring them to the venue of the project. In other case when you arrive in Larnaca or Pafos airport please take the Kapnos shuttle bus and come to Nicosia. When you take the bus please send us an sms in order to pick u up from the bus station in Nicosia.

Reimbursement of travel costs will only be done upon full attendance of the exchange programme and presentation of the original tickets with boarding passes and all receipt/invoices. 

Reimbursement will be done in EURO, regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice. 

! Note: Please note if you bought your ticket in your local currency which might be different than EUR, we will calculate your travel costs according to the exchange rates from official European Commission web-site for the month of ticket purchase

HEALTH INSURANCE: 
Health insurance is not provided by the organizers. All participants are required to purchase health insurance individually. 

European health insurance card. The European Health Card is accepted in every country of the European Union. If you don’t have it, you can get it easily. You should go to the office recharged with health affairs, and ask for your European Health Card. It's a little blue plastic card, and you can get it for free. It's valid in every EU country for 1 year. Or any other insurance is welcome (organizers are not covering insurance costs).  

PREPARATION: 
IMPORTANT! 
According to the programme we will have several activities in one of them your teams should present your organization and your country, also every night we will have an intercultural night, so bring with you traditional music, food, drinks CD with music typical for your country, quiz about your country, pictures, maps, and brochures about your country. We will reimburse 100€ to each partner group for preparation costs

WEATHER: 
It is given that coming to Cyprus in October means you should bring warm and light clothes with you because we don’t how the weather will be. Usually this period the weather is hot!! Also brink comfortable shoes and cloths, it will be helpful for our outdoor activities and during the workshops. Before come take a look on www.weather.com

We need all the originals receipts and invoices in order to give you the money for your travel cost.

The official language of the project is English and participants must have basic language skills. 
In order to cover the costs of the project we need the contribution of the participants. So the participation fee is 30€ per person.

When you buy the tickets please inform us about your arrival time in Cyprus in order to pick you up from there. 


Please inform us also if any of your participants needs a special diet or any special care.
